Know how an agreed divorce works

Are you getting prepared to move forward with the divorce process? While you may have heard bad things about this, the steps can be simple and straightforward if you and your partner are willing to work together.

With an agreed divorce, a married couple is able to agree on all aspects of the settlement, ranging from property visitation to child custody and much more. Best yet, both partners make these decisions on their own, as opposed to fighting it out in court.

Once all the necessary details are worked out between the couple, an attorney is brought into the equation to create the divorce decree. Both parties then sign the decree. From there, it is presented to the court.

The family court judge will have some questions for both parties with respect to the decree, so it is important to be present in court. Soon enough, the decree is signed with the divorce being granted on the spot.
